Breakfast smoothie

On Sunday the 2nd of January (after all the eating and drinking), I made me and Ken a great, healthy but simple breakfast smoothie to start the day.
The recipe was really easy.
for 1 smoothie:

1 banana
1 hand of cereals/muesli of your choice
1 cup of strawberry yogurt
half a glass of milk (you can add more or less to have a more or less liquid smoothie)
put it all together in the blender and voila, ready!

You can also add some fresh fruit if you'd like. Some fresh strawberries would taste great in t his smoothie!

Doosjes

Bij deze enkele doosjes-maaksels.
Vooral veel aan gezwoegd, en niet allemaal even fijn afgewerkt, maar ja, we leren nog steeds veel bij.

Links boven een doosje voor mezelf uit gele stof met structuur in, en langs buiten een donkerbruine gerecupereerde jeans. langs de voorkant ook nog een plastic hoesje om een label in te steken.

Rechts boven eentje voor de bomma uit terracotta-velours (heel leuk stofje, heel makkelijk om mee te werken ook) en langs de binnenkant een mooi maar ongelofelijk irritant stofje uit een soort van satijn met bruine en gele bloempjes.

Vanvoor in't midden eentje voor ons mama: dezelfde jeansstof langsbuiten, en een stofje met beige, bordeau en goud langs binnen. Hier was vooral mijn binnen-stof te klein tegenover de jeansstof waardoor de randjes nogal naar binnen trekken, maar ja.

Nu moet ik er binnenkort nog 2 maken voor een kadootje en dan heb ik even genoeg van de doosjes. Ze zijn leuk maar er is toch veel prutswerk aan... :o)

Boxes

Here are some boxes I made as presents.

They are really fun and cute, but quite hard to make sometimes, so parts of them don't have the outcome I was hoping for, but so be-it.

Top left is one for myself, I used a yellow fabric for the inside and an old jeans from Ken (dark brown) for the outside. There's also a plastic pocket to hold a label if necessary. It's the first one I did and it turned out quite nice.

Top right is one for my grandmother as a small new-year's-present. (she chose the fabrics herself from my stock)It's terracotta-velours on the outside (a great fabric to work with), and a beige satin-like fabric with flowers for the inside (not such a great fabric to work with)

The bottom one is for my mom. She also wanted one and chose the fabrics as well. It's the same jeans on the outside as mine, and a warm-red fabric on the inside with beige flowers and some gold accents.

I really like them, but it takes quite some time to make them.
That's why I'm not really sad that I only have two left to make for a small present by the end of January.

Kerstkaartjes

Nu we dan toch de ‘handige’ tour opgaan, vond ik zelf kerstkaartjes maken ook dit jaar wel een leuke uitdaging. Hier en daar wat inspiratie gevonden, en dan hop, aan de slag. Ook Ken had nog heel wat nuttige ideetjes, en uiteindelijk zijn we tot een super mooi resultaat gekomen. Foto’s post ik na Kerst, gezien het anders geen verrassing meer is voor de ontvangers.



Hier wel een voorbeeldje van 2 jaar geleden (of was dat al 3 jaar geleden?).

 

Ik moet wel zeggen dat ik die van dit jaar leuker vind. In ieder geval origineler. ;o) hint: de naaimachine is van pas gekomen!

Christmas cards

As I’m into handmade stuff these days, I thought it was a nice challenge to make some nice Christmas cards this year. Found some inspiration on a couple of sites and got started.



Ken had some nice ideas as well, and I ended up with a great result.


I’ll be posting a picture after Christmas so that it’s still a bit of a surprise for the people that actually receive one of the cards.


Here’s an example of a card that I made about 2 years ago (or has it been 3 years already?).

I must say that I like this year’s cards a lot better, or at least more original. I even used the sewing machine to make them!
